People ask me about the name of my company, “MultiCultural Realty.” I believe real estate is about the People who buy homes, who sell their homes, and who own the homes they live in. They are the the residential real estate industry - not the buildings.
Home Buyers, Home Sellers, and Home Owners want and need a lot of information, education, guidance, and assistance. I believe my job is to provide them with information, education, guidance, and assistance at the highest level of competence that I can achieve. Neighborhoods prosper when residents are Successful Home Owners. I believe my responsibility as a real estate broker is to do what I can to help support the success of the Home Owners I serve.
MultiCultural Realty helps home buyers find and buy affordable and sustainable homes. And MultiCultural Realty helps those new home owners learn how to maintain and improve their homes.
At MultiCultural Realty it sounds like there are a lot of us – but it’s just me, Michael Harrell. I’ve been in the Twin Cities real estate business for 20 years, including new homes and remodeling. I provide exceptionally thorough, complete, and professional residential real estate services to people of all cultures and nationalities who desire to be Home Owners or who already are Home Owners and want to sell their homes. When I tackle something I see it through to completion. I don’t hand off stuff to underlings. I solve problems and get things done to your benefit. Homeownership Gap
Throughout history groups of people have been identified and labeled. Today, here in America and here in Minnesota, members of some of those groups are Home Owners at strikingly low comparative rates. This is often referred to as the Homeownership Gap and the groups of people who are at lower levels of Homeownership are referred to as the Emerging Markets. You could also call them the Ignored Markets, or the Under-Served Markets. Whatever they are, they have not been treated fairly and that is not right. It's time for change. MultiCultural Realty actively participates in efforts to reduce the Homeownership Gap for Emerging Markets.

I don't automatically subscribe to the notions that everyone should own their home, or that owning is better than renting, or that you’re just throwing your money away if you rent, or that you are building wealth when you own a home. Homeownership is not for everybody. Your situation has to be right and the time has to be right for homeownership to make sense for you.
Owning a home is not automatic wealth – it doesn’t automatically make you rich. In fact, owning real estate can ruin one’s wealth as we know all too well these days.
Homeownership is a life style, just like renting is a life style. It's a life style that often does lead to greater wealth as long as other important criteria are met.
I believe that only people who can afford to buy, continue to pay for, and continue to maintain a home should be Home Owners. For homeownership to be part of the foundations of strong communities, it must be sustainable homeownership. Sustained homeownership is what bolsters communities – not homeownership for a while, then vacancies, then rehabs, then more short-term homeownership, etc. That cycle isn't good for any homeowner or any neighborhood, or any society here in America.
MultiCultural Realty will only assist people who are ready and capable of being long-term Home Owners. I will never pressure you to become a Home Owner if the time is not right for you. However, if your goal is to be a Home Owner but the time is not right for you, I'll help you get on a track to become a successful Home Owner in the future.

I make sure my clients get a good home, in good condition, and at a good price. I make sure they can afford the home and that they can take care of it as well. I make sure they have access to all the special financing and assistance money that’s available for home buyers. I make sure they only work with reputable and competent housing professionals and I make sure they don’t make bad decisions or get ripped off by bad people (crooks) in the housing industry.
